ABSTRACT

In this work, a new turn-on fluorescent probe 1 for Hg2+ ions detection based on rhodamine B spirolactam was reported. Among tested metal ions, probe 1 shows high selectivity towards Hg2+ in the the mixture solution of methanol and 0.02 M HEPES buffer (V/V = 9:1, pH = 7.2). No absorption and emission band of probe 1 was observed in the range from 450 to 700 nm. While only addition of Hg2+ to probe 1 could lead to appearance of a new absorption band centered at 553 nm and a fluorescence emission band around 577 nm upon excitation at 520 nm. Moreover, it exhibits excellent linear relationship (R2 = 0.9993) between fluorescence intensity at 577 nm and the concentration of Hg2+ from 1.6 to 32 μM. The sensing mechanism was proven to be spirolactam ring open induced by Hg2+ through 1H NMR, MS, absorption and fluorescence spectra. In addition, probe 1 could detect Hg2+ in real water samples and on filter paper, which demonstrates its application in environment science.  相似文献

The current leak tests for gloves are qualitative. The developed quantitative leak test uses vacuum pressure to draw measured volumes of water to detect microholes/tears in whole gloves and glove pieces. A modified plastic vacuum desiccator interfaced with a Frazier air permeability tester allowed exposure of disposable unsupported/unlined/powderless Kimtech Blue nitrile to 50 mL of water for glove pieces or to 600 mL within a whole glove at vacua of 8–9 in. (20–23 cm) and 11–12 in. (28–30 cm) water gauge, respectively. Punctures of known dimensions were made before testing in specific glove areas using 21-, 22-, 26-, 30-, and 33-gauge needles (outer/inner diameters in micrometres of 873/514, 794/413, 635/311, 476/127, 318/159 and 238/133, respectively). The length of the punctures varied from 0.13 ± 0.01 to 0.80 ± 0.11 mm. Flow rates of water through the holes/tears ranged from 2.5 ± 0.4 to 106 ± 7 mL/min for glove pieces. For whole gloves, the ranges were from 31 ± 9 to 543 ± 110 mL/min in the palm area; and 0.23 ± 0.06 to 82 ± 18 mL/min in the finger/fingertip area. The method quantified tear lengths as short as 0.13 ± 0.01 mm.  相似文献

The transverse and longitudinal mechanical properties of aramid fibers like Kevlar? 29 (K29) fibers are strongly linked to their highly oriented structure. Mechanical characterization at the single fiber scale is challenging especially when the diameter is as small as 15 µm. Longitudinal tensile tests on single K29 fibers and single fiber transverse compression test (SFTCT) have been developed. Our approach consists of coupling morphological observations and mechanical experiments with SFTCT analysis by comparing analytical solutions and finite element modeling. New insights on the analysis of the transverse direction response are highlighted. Systematic loading/unloading compression tests enable to experimentally determine a transverse elastic limit. Taking account of the strong anisotropy of the fiber, the transverse mechanical response sheds light on a skin/core architecture. More importantly, results suggest that the skin of the fiber, typically representing a shell of one micrometer in thickness, has a transverse apparent modulus of 0.2 GPa. That is around more than fifteen times lower than the transverse modulus of 3.0 GPa in the core. By comparison, the measured longitudinal modulus is about 84 GPa. When designing programs or software for the implementation of Monte Carlo (MC) hypothesis tests, we can save computation time by using sequential stopping boundaries. Such boundaries imply stopping resampling after relatively few replications if the early replications indicate a very large or a very small p value. We study a truncated sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) boundary and provide a tractable algorithm to implement it. We review two properties desired of any MC p value, the validity of the p value and a small resampling risk, where resampling risk is the probability that the accept/reject decision will be different than the decision from complete enumeration. We show how the algorithm can be used to calculate a valid p value and confidence intervals for any truncated SPRT boundary. We show that a class of SPRT boundaries is minimax with respect to resampling risk and recommend a truncated version of boundaries in that class by comparing their resampling risk (RR) to the RR of fixed boundaries with the same maximum resample size. We study the lack of validity of some simple estimators of p values and offer a new, simple valid p value for the recommended truncated SPRT boundary. Abstract

A color test is presented for the purpose of quickly identifying glazed ceramic and/or enameled metalware which releases excessive Pb. Citric acid solution on filter paper is used to extract Pb from the ware and a Pb-sensitive chromogen indicates the presence of Pb on the paper. The quick color test takes approximately 30 min and is useful for screening ware to determine the need for testing by the 24-h method of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists/American Society for Testing and Materials.  相似文献

A gas chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and validated to simultaneously determine boscalid and fludioxonil in grape and soil samples. These samples were extracted with 10 mL of acetonitrile and purified using a mixed primary secondary amine/octadecylsilane sorbent. The method showed good linearity (R2 > 0.99) in the calibration range 0.005–2 μg/mL for both pesticides. The limits of detection and quantification for the two analytes in grape and soil were 0.006 and 0.02 mg/kg, respectively. Fungicide recoveries in grape and soil were 81.18–92.11% for boscalid and 82.73–97.67% for fludioxonil with relative standard deviations of 1.31–10.31%. The established method was successfully applied to the residual analysis of boscalid and fludioxonil in real grape and soil samples. The terminal residue concentrations of boscalid and fludioxonil in grape samples collected from Anhui and Guizhou were <5 mg/kg (the maximum residue limit set by China) 7 days after the last application and 1 mg/kg (the maximum residue limit set by USA) 14 days after the last application. These results could provide guidance for the proper and safe use of boscalid and fludioxonil in grape and help the Chinese government to establish an MRL for fludioxonil in grape.  相似文献

The volume filling fraction dependence of the effective permittivity of the nematic liquid crystal 4-n-pentyl-4’-cyanobiphenyl embedded in different porous membranes and dispersed with aerosil nanoparticles was determined using broadband dielectric spectroscopy in the frequency range from 106 to 109 Hz. The experimental data were analyzed and compared with some existing theories based on the effective medium approximation and their modifications. The obtained effective permittivities as a function of the volume filling fraction lie between the lower limits of the Wiener and Hashin–Shtrikman bounds. The observed shift of the experimental points reflects the changes in the structure of the investigated composites.  相似文献

Abstract

Ion exchange resins in contact with soil can act as a sink for metal cations, thereby simulate the action of plant roots. Ion exchange resins in membrane form offer additional advantages in ease of use and handling. A procedure was developed to assess the bioavailability of four heavy metals Cd, Cr, Ni and Pb via direct in soil burial. A growth chamber experiment with three representative crops (oats, radish and lettuce) was set up to determine the phytotoxic levels of the four heavy metals. The critical levels varied widely from crop to crop, and soil to soil. Lettuce was most sensitive to high concentration of metals. The toxic effects are more pronounced on sandier textured soils.  相似文献
